What is USDA bio-based product certification?
The USDA BioPreferred program is a certification system promoted by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) to expand markets for bio-based products and create jobs. It allows the use of labels as proof of product certification beyond the default value. Through this program, "APPLE-BASED LEATHER" has been certified as containing 40% bio-derived ingredients.
"VEGAN LEATHER" is currently attracting attention.
APPLE LEATHER is not only a material considered for the SDGs but also a vegan material.
Vegetarianism through dietary habits is well-known, but "vegan leather" refers to synthetic or artificial leather made without animal-derived ingredients. APPLE LEATHER not only contains no animals but also helps reduce food waste, making it a new generation of more environmentally friendly vegan materials.
"Smooth" 7 colors

There are two types of surface treatments and a total of 15 colors.
APPLE LEATHER comes in two surface treatments: "SMOOTH," which has a soft and smooth texture, and "EMBOSSED," which has small bumps and irregularities. "SMOOTH" is available in 7 colors and "EMBOSSED" in 8 colors. You can choose the material that best suits your image from a total of 15 colors.
Characteristics of APPLE LEATHER
1. Environmentally friendly
It's worth noting that it has a low environmental impact. Conventional synthetic leather uses 100% petroleum-derived plastics such as polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride. Petroleum-derived plastics are not biodegradable, so even when they are disposed of, they don't return to the soil and remain underground for decades. Burning waste also produces a large amount of CO2, which has become a problem. This is why genuine leather is considered a more environmentally friendly material than synthetic leather.
Apple peels use natural materials for 66% of their raw materials, thus reducing the use of fossil resources. Furthermore, by reusing apples that would otherwise be discarded, we are contributing to solving the problem of food waste.
2. High water resistance and durability
APPLE LEATHER is special because of its water-resistant properties. Because of this water resistance, the leather is less prone to cracking and surface damage, also known as hydrolysis.
Because it has excellent water-repellent properties when wet from rain, even if the leather gets slightly wet, you can simply wipe it with a dry cloth.
With its resistance to friction and tearing, this type of leather is an extremely durable material.
3. Beautiful colors and high quality
Our apple-based leather line includes 15 beautiful colors. Because there are no individual differences, the finish is uniform in color, durability, elasticity, etc. We contribute to creating better products with high and consistent quality.
